Gifting Items

If you'd like to gift an item to another user, you can do so by either purchasing it as a gift, directly gifting it from your inventory, or anonymously giving it away via a redeem code.

Purchasing as a Gift

When purchasing an item, simply check the Purchase this item as a gift checkbox and you'll be prompted to provide a recipient and an optional note to include with your gift.

Directly Gifting

If you'd like to directly gift an item in your inventory to another user and you know their account email, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Dashboard.

  2. Click your Account avatar in the corner.

  3. In the sidebar, click Inventory.

  4. Locate the item you'd like to gift and click its Manage icon.

  5. Click Gift under Actions to continue.

  6. In the Email field, enter the email of the user to whom you want to gift the item. The email must be linked to an active Carrd account.

  7. (Optional) Enter a note to include with your gift notification email.

  8. Confirm that you want to do this by checking the confirmation checkbox.

  9. Click Gift Item

  10. You're done! The item should now be available in the user's own inventory.

Via a Redeem Code

Alternatively if you'd like to gift an item in your inventory to another user but don't know their account email, or you'd like to include an item as part of a giveaway, you can do so via a redeem code. Here's how:

  1. Open the Dashboard.

  2. Click your Account avatar in the corner.

  3. In the sidebar, click Inventory.

  4. Locate the item for which you'd like a redeem code and click its Manage icon.

  5. Under Redeeming, click Turn on Redeeming

  6. You're done! The item will now be linked to the randomly generated redeem code visible on the item's manage page, and anyone with this code can now redeem* the item directly from your inventory.

    * Redeeming is anonymous. When the item is redeemed, you won't see who redeemed it, nor will they see who previously owned it.
